Story About Fox Photographs
Everyone that I have shown my photographs to seem to be the most intrigued by my Fox photographs. All of them are of a Red Fox(s), which can be seen all over Minnesota, but more frequently in rural to country regions vs the city and suburbs. They are more of a nocturnal animal, which made these moments captured extra special, as I got to witness these clever creatures during the day. I have seen them only a few times thus far in my lifetime, so I knew I had to take advantage of this time given to photograph them.
So, it actually just happened out of the blue during the fall of 2021, a couple of young fox wandered onto my property. They often lounged around, took many naps from what I remember, ha, ha! They would literally spend a good chunk of the day on my property and would leave about mid afternoon. The two of them liked to play around on that log you see in quite a few of the pictures as well as that wood pile. What was funny was watching how annoyed they’d get with each other at times, they’d put their ears back and just stare at each other and maybe bark here and there. I believe I saw them pretty much every day for like a week and then all of a sudden I didn’t see them anymore. It was a great opportunity to take pictures of them and get to watch their behavior and curiosity.
There was one fox that came back later in the fall, not sure if it was one of the “Twins” as I like to call them or just another random fox passing through. That one too came a few days and then was gone too. I did not see another fox pass through until about January to February of 2022. You will see that I have included some of those pictures in my gallery as well, hence the snow.
Unfortunately, I have not seen another fox since then. Like I said in my very first blog every picture is a special moment for me and capturing a moment I may only witness once in my lifetime, as I am not sure if I will ever experience these treasured moments again. I hope that one day I will be graced by another fox’s path, but here's to hoping, ha, ha!
Cheers!
